Editorial Comments:

(01:15) We don’t actually hate the French New Wave, it’s actually pretty interesting. But we do find a good deal of the movies made under the banner to be highly overrated and enjoy poking at Godard.
(02:00) I, Jacob, apologize for the potential mispronunciation of “Cahiers du Cinéma” and Le Mépris (1963), and preemptively apologize for all future mispronunciations.
(05:45) There may be any number of episodes depending on circumstances. We are not locking ourselves into 92 episodes.
Magnet of Doom (1963) was Melville’s first film in color. Le Samouraï 's Wikipedia page incorrectly states that it was the first. Someone should fix that.
(13:03) There Will Be Blood (2007) is the newest film on the 2008 AFI list, The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) is the second newest movie.
